404–399 BCE
28th Dynasty of Egypt
404–399 BCE
The 28th Dynasty is a single short reign, that of Amyrtaeus of Sais, who led the revolt that drove the Persians out of Egypt. It is the shortest dynasty in Manetho's scheme.
Evidence for the reign is thin, mostly a small number of documents and later Greek accounts, so little detail can be reconstructed.
