c.1773–1650 BCE
13th Dynasty of Egypt
c. 1773–1650 BCE
The 13th Dynasty followed the 12th and ruled from Itjtawy for roughly a century and a half. Dozens of kings are known from the Turin King List, seals and scattered monuments, and most reigns were short, though a few rulers such as Sobekhotep IV held real authority.
Its chronology is one of the most contested parts of Egyptian history. Modern reconstructions differ on the order and number of kings, and the late part of the dynasty overlaps with the 14th Dynasty and the rise of the Hyksos. Names in this archive should be read as the current best reconstruction, not a settled list.
